BRF Pucks are an effective solution for eliminating persistent bacterial contamination from your cultures, serving as a last-resort option when standard methods fail. Brown rice flour (BRF) creates an inhospitable environment for bacteria, giving mushroom mycelium a competitive advantage. Our BRF Pucks are pre-sterilized and ready for inoculation, ensuring convenience and reliability.
Usage Instructions:
Sterilize a 10ml water-filled syringe for 15-20 minutes at 15psi/103.4kpa.
Attach a 21G hypodermic needle to the sterilized syringe.
Quickly poke your agar culture with the needle.
Squirt a small amount of water onto the BRF Puck to transfer the microscopic piece of mycelium.
Visual growth on the puck can take up to 7 days or more. Once growth is observed, scrape the mycelium off the BRF and transfer it to agar. Avoid cutting pieces of the puck for transfers.
Each BRF Puck is made to order and ships within 5 business days.
